What is COVID-19?

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that can cause minor illnesses such as a common cold, to a fever, to more fatal diseases such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) to Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The diseases that have been caused by the newly discovered coronavirus is called COVID-19. This new strain of the virus was identified in late 2019, and was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) as of March 2020.
