                          What We Do

THIS IS WHO WE ARE
Our Objective:
  • To keep everyone in the school community connected to one another
  • Your Peer Leaders are here to help and support you--ask us any questions you may have for school
  • We are here to help you meet new people, socialize, and to cope with the many hurdles in your lives
  • To utilize technology as a means of helping to build a sense of community i.e. Instagram
  • Our Peer Leaders want the STM community to share your thoughts, ideas, and struggles. This is a space where you can enjoy yourself through the resources we have provided
Our Motto & Aspirations:
  • "Bring MORE 2 Life" is our initiative for the 2024-2025 school year. We are aiming to fight the negativity that surrounds us, and are encouraging others to see that the storm will pass
  • We want you to feel welcomed into the STM community, no matter what grade you are currently enrolled in
  • We would like to help you balance your school and social life through the tips and resources we provide
  • We endorse and support a healthy mentality and physically active lifestyle with the promotion and sharing of recipes, exercise suggestions, and the other resources listed throughout the site
Our CURRENT Initiatives:
  • To help students feel a sense of belonging within the school community--in particular, our grade nines. Grade 9 Interviews are used to communicate with our new students to ensure they feel welcomed in this new environment. Through an open conversation, we find ways to improve our school to make it a safe community.
  • Cheers, Fears, and Unclears: Our Peer Leaders go to the elementary feeder schools to give a presentation to the Grade 8s and see how they are coping with their upcoming transition into high school.
  • Jersey Day in honour of a beloved teacher who recently passed. Mr. Raso touched the lives of many students and to honour his legacy, Jersey Day was an opportunity for students to come together and raise money for More Outreach, all while remembering the impact he had on everyone's lives.
  • Pilgrims of Hope Video Contest with the Ontario Catholic School Trustees Association. As Peer Leaders we strive to promote hope and peace within our school. Check out our video at https://www.ocsta.on.ca/briefs-resources/poh-short-video-contest/
  • Christmas Bake Sale in support of our Mental Health Initiatives. We supply our school with a sweet treat to promote happiness within the community.
